What kind of bird eggs are these?

My mom went to a flower nursery a little earlier, and came back with some plants. She showed me one of the plants (it’s a medium tall plant in a medium sized pot), and there at the base of the stem was a small bird nest.
Inside there are 4 eggs, all around the size of a penny.
They are a very pale blue, and at one of the ends on each egg is a ring of brown speckles that goes around the egg.
What kind of bird laid the eggs?

Hard to say for sure..lots of species lay bluish eggs with brown speckles. I just feel terrible for the parents who are probably frantically searching for their nest right now that has suddenly disappeared!
