Oh no....
I have found florring to be good esp with kids. Plus its more hygienic, quick to clean and looks nice.
Can imagine how you must have felt. I hate it when things like hat happen, cant stand any muck coming from outside into the house.

omg this brings back memories ... I cannot stand DOG POO and in fact I am quite obsessed with it ... now every time bethany goes out the door she calls out yeah I know mum mind the poo pmsl

I was brought up to NEVER where shoes in the house ... and I have carried that on .... I even asked the bloody gas man who reads the meter to take em off NOBODY steps on my carpets especially after a horrible experience -

When me and my ex bought our first house it was from his mother and she let us move in and pay rent before we had actually gone for the mortgage .. so we could do it up a bit ... I had all brand new carpets fitted and then we went for the mortgage and a man had to come out and survey or something ... I thought o its a nice day .. relax so I let him go all through my house .. WELL after a couple of rooms i could smell it ... I WAS MORTIFIED .. when he went I couldnt stop crying I was on the phone to my mum beside myself and I had joshua crawling around he was a baby at the time ... I scrubbed those carpets one by one for hours until my bloody hands hurt .... I NEVER EVER ALLOWED shoes in my house again .. and for the workman that say they are not allowed I lay old sheets/towels down .... I cant stand it ... at the end of the day its your house and you can say you dont come in without taking your shoes off ... I always out of respect for other peoples carpets remove mine in theirs x

Am the same hun. You never know people have been or whats under heir shoes. So when l go to someone's house l always ask em if they want me to take my shoes off, so when they come round to my house l ask em to their's off. Only fair as l do the same at theirs.
We've been in thi 1 bed flat for 5 months now and we he wooden flooring everywhere. I prefer wooden flooring, much better as soon Daniyah will start eating herself so l wont have to worry about food being dropped or thrown on the carpet and ruining it.

Its disgusting. It just amazes me where the dirt comes from. WE use Dettol wipes. Another advantage of having wooden ooring is if you're renting the landlord cant use the old 'ohh l'll be keeping such amount of your eposit to clean the carpet'. And like you d if there are an spills or accidents just mop up, sweep or hoover. Easy peesy lon squeezy lol.
